Job Description:
The Logistics Coordinator will efficiently and safely organize the control of stock, maximize vehicle utilization for both inbound and outbound products, while ensuring costs are kept to a minimum and customer delivery needs are met. This role involves working closely with the Logistics Manager and other departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.

Skills & Experience:

Special Skills:

  • Forklift truck license
  • Good knowledge of geography
  • Good communication skills
  • Well-organized
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a wider team
  • Intermediate computer skills to update database and prepare reports

Experience:

  • Some experience in logistics preferred, but training will be provided if required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Loading and unloading wagons safely and timely.
  2. Putting stock away into racks & preparing material for production when required.
  3. Ensuring stock records are kept up to date.
  4. Making pallets up into jobs so they are available to the punch operators.
  5. General housekeeping of all storage areas including outside storage areas.
  6. Performing a weekly stock check of fast-moving items and a full stock check at the end of each month.
  7. Working with the Logistics Manager in arranging transport for outgoing loads and deliveries.
  8. Liaising with customers to confirm delivery times and dates.
  9. Working with Team Leaders and the Logistics Manager to ensure items are delivered to SPC & material or WIP is transported within agreed timeframes.
  10. Assisting in production or driving the wagon to make deliveries or collections when required.
  11. Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
