Job Description:
As a
Welder
, you’ll be responsible for carrying out welding operations to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components. You’ll be working with materials such as mild steel and using a range of techniques including MAG, MAG PULSE, MIG, TIG, FCAW, and GMAW. The
Welder
will interpret technical drawings and welding specifications to ensure high standards of work across a variety of precision components.
This Welder role involves material preparation, equipment setup, and quality inspections. You’ll also take ownership of maintenance and participate in a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) routine. Safety is paramount, and your role will be critical in supporting the company’s ‘Home Safe Everyday’ and ‘Target Zero’ policies.
Skills & Experience:
To be successful in the
Welder
role, you should bring:
- Proven experience in welding within automotive or rail industries
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and weld symbols
- Proficiency in multiple welding processes (MAG, TIG, MIG, etc.)
- Knowledge of welding standards (AWS D1.1, ISO 9606-1 desirable)
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
- A keen eye for quality and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to support overtime as needed
- A safety-first attitude
