Job Description:
As a Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding a variety of metal components to engineering drawings and specifications. You will work across MIG/TIG processes, precision fabrication, and quality-critical operations, ensuring all work meets required standards and industry codes. This Welder Fabricator role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Key duties include:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions
- Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using workshop tools and machinery
- Carrying out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials
- Working to WPS (Weld Procedure Specifications) and recognised welding codes such as BS EN and ISO
- Preparing jigs and fixtures for complex assemblies
- Operating CNC plasma cutters, waterjet, and precision machinery (desirable)
- Inspecting completed welds and assemblies for accuracy and compliance
- Maintaining tools and equipment and following all safety procedures, SSOW, risk assessments, and quality standards

Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator within a heavy manufacturing or engineering environment
- Competent in MIG and TIG welding, with coded TIG welding in stainless steel considered highly advantageous
- Ability to understand and weld to WPS
- Skilled in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and inspection arms
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and consistent high-quality output
Desirable:
- Experience preparing jigs/fixtures and working on complex assemblies
- Experience with CNC plasma cutting or waterjet machinery
