Job Description
As a Supply Chain Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring materials and components flow efficiently through manufacturing and distribution operations. Reporting into senior operations leadership, the Supply Chain Planner will support procurement, planning, logistics, and inventory control to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include coordinating the sourcing and delivery of electronic components, assemblies, and materials aligned to production schedules. You will raise and manage purchase orders, track supplier performance, and proactively expedite critical items to avoid delays. Maintaining accurate ERP data is central to the Supply Chain Planner role, alongside generating reports on shortages, stock levels, and delivery performance.
Inventory control is a core focus, including cycle counting, managing obsolete stock, and ensuring traceability and compliance with quality standards. The Supply Chain Planner will work closely with engineering, warehouse, and logistics teams to manage kitting, despatch, and inbound/outbound transport, including domestic and export shipments.
Cross-functional collaboration is key, with involvement in new product introductions, engineering changes, KPI improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supply chain, procurement, or materials role
• Experience within electronics or engineering manufacturing preferred
• Strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP S/4HANA advantageous)
• Ability to read BOMs and engineering change documentation
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Understanding of logistics, Incoterms, and stock control
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable
