Job Description:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be the key link between the Newton Aycliffe manufacturing site and the supply base. Your role will focus on managing supplier-related quality issues, preventing recurrence, and improving supplier capability. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and SQA teams to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:

Acting as the first point of contact for supplier quality deviations

Issuing Initial Quality Notifications and supporting 8D problem-solving

Validating supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions

Supporting PCBA analysis within the quality lab

Managing non-conforming or suspect supplier material

Routine KPI reporting and data collection

Reviewing and managing deviation approval requests

Supporting New Product Introduction through pilot and trial build phases

Collaborating with global SQA teams and visiting suppliers when required
This Supplier Quality Engineer position is suited to someone who enjoys combining hands-on problem solving with strategic supplier development.
Skills & experience:

Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience

3+ years in a quality engineering role within a high-volume manufacturing environment

Experience with EMS or automotive suppliers desirable

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, RCA, SPC, and 8D methodologies

Strong communication and influencing skills

Data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Comfortable working in cross-functional, fast-paced environments
