Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales and Bid Project Manager to lead and coordinate strategic naval campaigns within a highly technical engineering environment. The Sales and Bid Project Manager will play a key role in driving business growth by developing winning bid strategies, managing complex proposals, and delivering customer-focused engineering solutions.
Working within a global matrix organisation, the Sales and Bid Project Manager will collaborate closely with Engineering, Commercial, Supply Chain, Cost Estimation, and international Sales teams to ensure proposals are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
The Sales and Bid Project Manager will oversee the full proposal and campaign lifecycle, from opportunity planning and applications engineering through to business evaluations and bid approvals. This role requires strong leadership capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
The successful Sales and Bid Project Manager will also manage proposal budgets, coordinate campaign reviews, and proactively support future business opportunities aligned with long-term strategic plans.
Some international travel will be required as part of the role.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a Campaign Manager, Bid Manager, Proposal Manager, or similar strategic leadership role
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Experience working within engineering, defence, aerospace, naval, or complex manufacturing sectors
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Strong programme and risk management capability
- Experience leading cross-functional teams within a matrix environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
