Job Title: Process Quality Analyst (PQA) Function: Quality Reports to: Quality Manager Date: October 2025
2. Principal Accountabilities
• Ensure that all critical process control parameters are maintained within specification
• Ensure that all appropriate actions are taken to supply a quality finished product to the customer
• Identify high-risk activities, events, and trends
• Work pro-actively with the manufacturing team and use your own initiative based on data and information available
• Provide a central point of reference regarding customer or Plant-related ongoing quality issues
• Work flexibly in any work area as far as safety and capability allow
1. Purpose of Job
To support all Quality Assurance activities on all manufacturing lines at site. Context Sonoco is a leading global supplier of metal packaging, producing food cans and ends, aerosol cans, metal closures and promotional packaging to preserve the products of hundreds of consumer brands. Newcastle is a long-established printing Centre of Excellence site which produces high quality printed sheets of tinplate to both internal and external customers.
3. Knowledge & Experience
Experience/Qualifications
• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• A proven quality background
• Experience of working in a high-speed production environment
• In-depth knowledge of ISO standards, SPC (Statistical Process Controls), HACCP (Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Point) and Continuous Improvements techniques
• Print Process knowledge
