Job Description:
As Production Unit Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading and coordinating manufacturing teams within a busy production environment. You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing production teams to meet output and performance targets
- Driving a strong culture of health & safety and quality standards
- Implementing and improving production processes and procedures
- Coaching and developing a team of Supervisors across a 24/7 function
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities
- Monitoring KPIs and driving performance improvements across the operation
- Working cross-functionally with other departments to optimise output and efficiency
- Managing inventory accuracy and addressing production challenges proactively
Skills Required:
- Proven experience in a Production Manager / Leader role within high-volume manufacturing, FMCG or automotive environments
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g. 5S, 5 Why, TPM, Kaizen)
- Experience working to high quality standards (e.g. IATF16949 preferred)
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
