Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and organised Logistics and Materials Operative to support operations at the Harelaw site. This is a critical role responsible for the safe movement, storage, and management of materials, ensuring efficiency across production and yard operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Material Handling:
• Operate forklifts to transport materials and work-in-progress safely across site.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring materials (including sheet metal) are secured correctly.
• Organise and maintain storage areas with clear labelling and proper stock control.
• Support stock checks and track inventory movements.
• Operate the bandsaw to issue raw materials in line with job requirements. Yard Management:
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient yard area.
• Monitor yard stock levels and report discrepancies.
• Support safe vehicle and delivery movements within the yard.
• Empty workshop bins and manage waste streams, including hazardous waste.
• Maintain site presentation, ensuring outer areas are tidy and free from litter or weeds. Production & Goods In Support:
• Assist with assembly and packing operations as required.
• Drive the company pickup to support deliveries, collections, and holiday/sickness cover. Safety & Compliance:
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct PPE use.
• Conduct routine pre-use checks on FLTs and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience: Qualifications:
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (training can be provided)
• Full UK Driving Licence Experience:
• Previous experience in materials handling, logistics, warehouse, or yard operations is advantageous but not essential. Skills:
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills. Personal Attributes:
