Job Description:
As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing plant pipe systems across a busy industrial site. You’ll carry out both planned maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely.
Your key responsibilities as a Pipe Fitter will include:
- Maintaining and repairing pipe systems and associated mechanical equipment.
- Supporting maintenance technicians and apprentices within the team.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance (PM) and responding to work orders.
- Reading, interpreting, and modifying pipe drawings and schematics.
- Identifying, isolating, and removing redundant or faulty pipework.
- Collaborating with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Attending maintenance meetings and maintaining accurate shift handover notes.
This Pipe Fitter role will suit a proactive professional who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and working in a hands-on environment.
Skills & Experience:
To be successful as a Pipe Fitter, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience in industrial or plant pipe fitting.
- The ability to read and modify technical pipe drawings.
- Knowledge of maintenance excellence techniques (RCFA, Kaizen, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A safety-first attitude and good attention to detail.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in pipe fitting or mechanical maintenance (preferred).
