Job Description:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring plant and equipment run efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of equipment (presses, welding equipment, lasers, CNC machines, surface finishing equipment, etc.)
- Implementing and following preventative maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding on electrical and mechanical breakdowns
- Performing emergency and planned repairs to minimise downtime
- Maintaining accurate records using the Workmate Preventative Maintenance System
- Coordinating contractor activities and ensuring compliance with health & safety protocols
- Managing spare parts inventory and requisitions
Skills & Experience:
- Time-served Maintenance Engineer/Technician with proven experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance in a busy manufacturing environment
- Strong background in wiring, electrical assembly, mechanical fitting, and machine repair
- Multi-skilled and adaptable with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proactive team player with resilience under pressure and a continuous improvement mindset
Qualifications:
- NVQ or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical Bias)
- Electrical Installations (18th Edition)
- Valid driving license
(Desirable: IOSH/NEBOSH certification, PLC diagnostics, forklift/MEWP certification, PAT testing, etc.)
