Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining production machinery and site services to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime across the manufacturing facility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs
- Fault finding and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment modification projects
- Completing maintenance records using the CMMS system
- Assisting with risk assessments and permit-to-work activities
- Supporting root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures
- Ordering and managing engineering spare parts when required
- Working closely with production to maximise machine availability
- Ensuring all engineering activities comply with health and safety legislation
- Contributing to a proactive engineering culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience:
To be successful as a Maintenance Technician, you will ideally have:
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Knowledge of CMMS or planned maintenance systems
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
