Job Description:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical fitting, assembly, maintenance, and repair work on a range of commercial and specialist vehicles. The successful Mechanical Fitter
will work from engineering drawings and specifications to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required deadlines.
Daily duties for the Mechanical Fitter will include:
- Mechanical assembly and fitting of components
- Carrying out maintenance and repair work
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and resolving issues
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Working closely with engineers and workshop teams
- Ensuring all work meets health and safety standards
- Completing relevant job documentation accurately
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role
- Strong mechanical assembly and fitting knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using workshop tools and equipment
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude
- Experience within commercial vehicles, transport, or heavy engineering is advantageous
