Job Description:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical fitting, assembly, maintenance, and repair work on a range of commercial and specialist vehicles. The successful Mechanical Fitter will work from engineering drawings and specifications to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required deadlines.

Daily duties for the Mechanical Fitter will include:

  • Mechanical assembly and fitting of components
  • Carrying out maintenance and repair work
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and resolving issues
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Working closely with engineers and workshop teams
  • Ensuring all work meets health and safety standards
  • Completing relevant job documentation accurately

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role
  • Strong mechanical assembly and fitting knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using workshop tools and equipment
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude
  • Experience within commercial vehicles, transport, or heavy engineering is advantageous
