Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all plant equipment and machinery operate efficiently with minimal downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnosing faults using root cause analysis techniques
- Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams
- Maintaining accurate technical reports and work orders
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing spare parts and liaising with suppliers/vendors
Additional responsibilities (Tier 4):
- Leading training and development of team members
- Analysing maintenance data to identify trends and improvements
- Modifying maintenance schedules and implementing condition-based monitoring
- Supporting audits and driving continuous improvement projects
- Acting as a leader within the team and stepping in for management when required
Skills & Experience:
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
- Experience with fault finding, repair, and reading technical schematics
- Knowledge of pneumatics, robotics, and PLC systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automation systems
- Engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent)
Additional for Tier 4:
- Leadership experience
- Ability to create and modify PLC programs
- Experience with advanced/cleanroom equipment (desirable)
- Project management experience (small-scale projects)
