Job Description:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all plant equipment and machinery operate efficiently with minimal downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Diagnosing faults using root cause analysis techniques
  • Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams
  • Maintaining accurate technical reports and work orders
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Managing spare parts and liaising with suppliers/vendors

Additional responsibilities (Tier 4):

  • Leading training and development of team members
  • Analysing maintenance data to identify trends and improvements
  • Modifying maintenance schedules and implementing condition-based monitoring
  • Supporting audits and driving continuous improvement projects
  • Acting as a leader within the team and stepping in for management when required

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
  • Experience with fault finding, repair, and reading technical schematics
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, robotics, and PLC systems
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automation systems
  • Engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent)

Additional for Tier 4:

  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to create and modify PLC programs
  • Experience with advanced/cleanroom equipment (desirable)
  • Project management experience (small-scale projects)
