Job Description:
As a Health and Safety Senior Specialist, you will support the health and safety management team to ensure compliance with legislation and promote a strong safety culture across the business. Your main focus will be on delivering expert guidance, conducting investigations, and improving workplace safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing competent advice on all aspects of health and safety including CDM activities

  • Supporting the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses

  • Developing and reviewing risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and work instructions

  • Monitoring accident statistics, identifying trends, and producing reports

  • Liaising with internal departments, regulatory authorities, and external training providers

  • Organising and assisting with internal and external health and safety training

  • Conducting audits and inspections

  • Supporting ISO accreditation efforts and permit-to-work compliance

  • Providing guidance and mentoring to other team members and placement students

  • Contributing to health and safety committee meetings and departmental improvement initiatives


Skills & experience:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (required)

  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate (preferred)

  • Working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification

  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities

  • IT proficiency including Microsoft Office

  • Full UK driving license
