Job Description:
As a Junior CAD Assistant , you will support the engineering and design team in producing accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation for a variety of manufacturing projects. This role is ideally suited to a degree-qualified mechanical engineering graduate with some hands-on CAD experience, looking to build a long-term career in design and engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing 2D CAD drawings using industry-standard software .
- Assisting with design modifications in line with client and production requirements .
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable .
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to final production .
- Maintaining accurate design records and documentation .
This Junior CAD Assistant role offers excellent exposure to real engineering projects and the opportunity to develop technical expertise within a supportive team environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline) .
- 1–2 years’ industry experience in a CAD or design role (including placements) .
- Strong CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar) .
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes .
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability .
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively .
