Job Description:

We are seeking an organised and proactive Facilities Lead to oversee the management and maintenance of our Gateshead site. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all facilities and building amenities, reviewing and managing service contracts, ensuring compliance with inspections, and maintaining a safe and secure workplace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and reviewing service contracts with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.
  • Organising and overseeing legal inspections of plant and site equipment.
  • Liaising with and managing contractors to deliver maintenance and repair works.
  • Monitoring and controlling the facilities budget with the engineering manager.
  • Driving improvements in site safety, security, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Supporting the maintenance team with facilities-related processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in facilities management or coordination.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage service providers and contractors effectively.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g., PUWER/LOLER inspections).
  • Budget management experience is desirable.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
