Job Description:

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing equipment within a highly technical production environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
  • Diagnosing electrical and control system faults efficiently
  • Supporting equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analysing machine performance data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Assisting with equipment upgrades, modifications, and new technology implementation
  • Supporting maintenance procedures, safety standards, and engineering best practice
  • Working closely with production, process engineering, and external contractors
  • Managing spare parts and supporting cost reduction activities
  • Ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently to maximise uptime

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
  • Experience working with automated machinery, PLCs, instrumentation, control systems, pneumatics, or process equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • HNC qualification or above in an engineering discipline
Preferred Industry Background:

Candidates with experience working within the chemical manufacturing industry will be highly desirable. Applicants from other heavy industrial, process manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Continuous process manufacturing experience
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience with instrumentation, calibration, or control systems
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as 8D, SPC, or FMEA
