Job Description:

The Customer Quality Engineer will act as the primary quality interface between the business and assigned key customers. This Customer Quality Engineer role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction, managing quality concerns, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will oversee engineering changes, manage customer returns and complaints, and lead investigations into non-conformances through structured root cause analysis. You will verify and validate corrective actions, ensuring robust and permanent solutions are implemented.

The Customer Quality Engineer will play a key role in New Product Introduction (NPI), verifying customer-specific requirements and conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs). You will also provide technical support to production teams on product quality issues, including component inspections.

Responsibilities include supporting the internal auditing process (ISO9001), ensuring the Quality Management System (QMS) is adhered to, and identifying improvement opportunities through KPI and data analysis. The Customer Quality Engineer will review monthly data trends, monitor PPM levels, assess 8D reports, and present quality metrics at Business Review Meetings.

Additionally, you will respond to supplier quality issues, support compliance with industry accreditations, and contribute to maintaining high operational standards across the organisation.


Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • HND in Electronics

  • Experience within a volume electronics manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems

  • Internal auditing experience (ISO9001)

  • Working knowledge of IPC-610

  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto)

  • High level of data analysis capability

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commercial awareness

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • Degree in Electronics (or equivalent)

  • Certified IPC-610

  • Trained Internal Auditor

  • Experience with MRP systems

  • Risk management tools (FMEA, Control Plans)

  • Knowledge of AS9100, TS16949, ISO13485, ISO14001

  • Six Sigma experience
