Job Title: Advanced Press Brake Operator
Location
: Ferryhill
Salary: £16.98 per hour (including shift allowance) + Overtime
Working Hours:
38.5 hours per week on a rotating two-shift pattern:
• Early Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
• Late Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm

Job Description

This Advanced Press Brake Operator position involves setting up, programming and operating CNC press brake machinery while supporting production efficiency and maintaining the highest quality standards. You will play a key role within the folding department and support less experienced operators.

  • Set up and operate CNC press brake and metal forming machinery.
  • Configure tooling, bend allowances and machine programs.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and quality checks.
  • Support and mentor less experienced operators.
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues.
  • Monitor machine performance and report faults.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams.
  • Promote the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in CNC press brake or metal forming operations.
  • Ability to independently set, program and adjust machinery.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous mentoring or supervisory experience is advantageous.
