Theo James Recruitment is proud to be supporting an established Hartlepool engineering manufacturer in the appointment of a CNC Programmer. The business designs and manufactures bespoke heat-exchange equipment for demanding applications across marine, industrial, rail and power generation markets. With continued investment in its machining capability, this is a strong opportunity to join a technically experienced team producing varied, precision-engineered components.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 7:45am to 5:00pm, with an early finish at 1:00pm on Friday. Overtime may also be available depending on workload.
Job Description:
An experienced CNC Programmer is required to support a busy machining department producing bespoke components for specialist heat-exchange equipment.
You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls, using Manual Guide i to create programs directly at the machine. Working from engineering drawings, you'll select appropriate tooling and machining methods, complete in-process checks and ensure finished components meet the required quality standards. Depending on experience, there is also scope to take on additional responsibility within the CNC team, supporting day-to-day priorities and other operators.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Programmer who is confident writing programs at the machine and enjoys varied, hands-on engineering work.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Experience using Fanuc Manual Guide i to program at the machine
- Ability to write new programs, as well as edit and optimise existing programs
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Sound knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining methods
- Ability to carry out in-process inspection and work to demanding quality standards
- A responsible, team-focused approach with the confidence to support other CNC operators
