Job Description
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC machines to produce high-quality components to exact specifications. You will work with both CNC Turning and CNC Milling processes, ensuring all products meet stringent tolerances and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating CNC machines within target times.
- Producing components that conform to engineering drawings and cycle times.
- Performing visual and precision checks using inspection equipment (e.g. Verniers, micrometers, PI tape, CMM, and Inspection Arms).
- Conducting accurate checks and adjustments to meet tight tolerances.
- Collaborating with tool preparation operatives for timely provision of materials and tools.
- Carrying out daily machine checks, routine maintenance, and reporting issues.
- Safe material handling, including forklift driving and lifting/slinging tasks.
- Following all health, safety, environmental, and 5S procedures.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a CNC Machinist who can demonstrate:
- Experience with CNC Turning and Milling operations.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, CMM, etc.).
- Understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Forklift truck driving and lifting/slinging experience (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
