Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Team Leader to lead a team of warehouse and production staff at the Van Leeuwen Middlesbrough location. The Production Team Leader will be responsible for supervising daily warehouse operations, coordinating activities, and ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently and to high-quality standards.
As the Production Team Leader, you will coach, mentor and develop team members to maintain high performance and adherence to company policies. You will oversee work schedules, handle operational issues, and collaborate with supervisors, logistics and quality teams to uphold service excellence. The Production Team Leader will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement within the warehouse environment, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
The successful Production Team Leader will play a vital role in meeting operational goals while promoting a safe, organised and motivated workplace.
Skills & Experience:
We are ideally looking for the following in a Production Team Leader:
- Proven experience in a similar team leader / supervisory role within a warehouse, production or industrial environment
- 2–3 years’ experience in a TL / Supervisory / Leadership role (minimum)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop staff
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Experience planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines and targets
- A clear understanding of health and safety standards in warehouse and production settings
- Competency in using warehouse systems and basic IT tools (e.g., inventory systems, MS Office)
- Experience with SAP is desirable
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve operational issues effectively
- Coordinate with various departments for smooth operations
- A positive, hands-on approach and commitment to team success
