Job Title – Toolmaker  

Location – Washington

Shift Pattern –

Early shift - Monday to Thursday 6 am to 2.15 pm, Friday 6 am to 12.30 pm

Backshift - Monday to Thursday 2 pm to 10.30 pm, Friday 12.15 pm to 5.45 pm

Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 10 am to 6.15 pm, Friday 9 am to 15.15 pm

Salary – £39,100

About the company:

An established and innovative medical equipment manufacturer is looking to recruit a new Toolmaker due to someone retiring in the department.

 

Main Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety requirements.
  • Perform necessary training as required.
  • Manufacture prototype moulding tools to specification.
  • Collaborate with the tool room supervisor on new tool manufacture, repairs, and modifications.
  • Liaise with NPD and Production teams regarding quality specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and identify/purchase spares when needed.
  • Identify new materials for potential use.
  • Identify new/used machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Undertake any other tasks as needed.
  • Provide support in various areas of the business when required.
  • Maintain records of work undertaken as necessary.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maintenance of quality standards and requirements to produce tools to the necessary standards.
  • Maintain and enhance the company’s current Kaizen/5S activities in all work environments and contribute to future improvement activities.
  • Take accountability for all actions detailed in this document, product specifications, quality guidelines, company policies, general communications, rules, regulations, and procedures in the employee handbook.
