Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate must have a proven track record of working in a similar position, effectively managing and coaching a small purchasing team. The role will require at least 5 years’ experience in a procurement capacity, controlling a budget in excess of £100m.
It will desirable to have automotive industry experience, however applications are welcome from similar business that are fast moving and just as demanding.
Responsibilities:
The postholder will develop the procurement strategy, create expenditure forecasts and budget management, provide monthly/quarterly data on expenditure impact, discuss strategies, priorities and issues with the Manager and lead the cost improvement activity across the supplier base.
Support business improvements initiatives across programmes of work to ensure that the strategic goals of the business and Procurement are met, lead the supplier development team with a focus on continual improvement of Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Managing and resolving day-to-day issues with suppliers in a timely and effective manner, negotiate and develop formal supply agreements and ensure compliance and support relevant internal and external compliance and re-certification audits.
