Company Overview

 

We are recruiting for a growing, award winning and innovative manufacturer of mechanical products in their search for a new Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This new hire is due to continued investment in the business and in advance of new product launches coming into the business.

 

As a senior manufacturing engineer, you will lead NPI and a small team of manufacturing/process engineers who you will develop and mentor. You will be responsible for driving process development and optimisation for new product introductions, ensuring the successful transition of products from design to manufacturing.

 

You will also liaise closely with production, quality and customer service and support engineering change management and continuous improvement.

 

The role offers the right engineer the opportunity to develop the way process development is delivered, writing key processes, procedures, and guidelines to standardise and improve NPI company wide.

 

 

Job Description

 

  • Manage all NPI processes in the engineering team.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the department.
  • Develop process/manufacturing engineering best practices.
  • Create and evaluate manufacturing processes based on feasibility, quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Specify machine and equipment requirements.
  • Create factory and manufacturing line layouts.
  • Develop and organise manufacturing work/process flow.
  • Identify resource requirements.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff.
  • Present progress to senior management and stakeholders.


Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience of using CAD.
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, assembly, and automation.
  • Proficiency using process development tools.
  • Experience applying Six Sigma.
  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis tools & PFMEA.
  • Project engineering/Project management skills.
  • Experience of implementing and introducing automation and new machinery.
