Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level- business or Commercial degree is advantageous but not essential
  • Minimum of 5 years Commercial experience within an automotive manufacturing business
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to influence and negotiate including dealing with difficult situations
  • Ability to establish and develop relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities under pressure.
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and present information to various levels
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Able to travel when required (UK and abroad)

Responsibilities:

  • Create Sales forecasts and budget management
  • Track and present Cost performance and Cost Recovery items
  • Analyse and present monthly/quarterly data on business activities, discuss strategies, cost reduction ideas, priorities and issues with the Commercial Manager
  • Support business improvement activities to ensure the strategic goals of the business are met
  • Managing day to day activities of the Commercial team
  • Support the preparation of sales quotations in line with the business policy, ensuring on time completion and accuracy as well as having sign off from various internal teams
  • Develop and improve customer relationships
  • Negotiate with the customers
  • Manage and resolve day to day issues with customers in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Support relevant internal and external compliance and re-certification audits Monitor market trends and competitor strategies
