I’m working with a specialist engineering and fabrication business based near Burnopfield, Gateshead. This is an exciting time to join – the company is scaling quickly, aiming to hit £5 million turnover with significant new contracts in the nuclear and infrastructure sectors.

Operating across complex engineering projects, they offer services including bending, fabrication, welding, laser cutting, and painting. With major contract wins, including a £600K+ project at Teesport, they’re looking to strengthen their project delivery team.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a Project Manager (or a strong Project Coordinator ready to step up) to take ownership of client delivery and site-based installation projects.

As Project Manager, you’ll oversee installation teams, coordinate timelines, and act as the key point of contact for client communication. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle from initial planning to completion, ensuring technical requirements, timelines, and budgets are met.

The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, so strong organisational and people skills are essential. While this isn’t a hands-on technical role, a good understanding of engineering processes is important to succeed.

With large-scale projects already secured and new work in the nuclear/defence sector underway, the Project Manager will play a central role in delivering high-value, complex projects for years to come.

Skills & Experience:

To thrive as a Project Manager, you should bring:

• A few years of experience in a similar industry (engineering, manufacturing, industrial)
• Background in project coordination or junior project management
• Confidence managing teams and client relationships
• A strong grasp of timelines, budgets, and project controls
• Understanding of fabrication, welding, or engineering processes
• Clear communication and leadership abilities
