Job Description:

The Production Engineer will play a vital role in the optimisation, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes within the business. This position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement. The Production Engineer will be responsible for managing a variety of assembly processes, including CNC routing, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and electrical assembly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of continuous improvement for existing machines and processes.
  • Select and develop new assembly processes and techniques.
  • Specify and develop new equipment and tooling.
  • Define and optimise production procedures to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Train staff on new and existing production processes.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and management to implement innovative manufacturing technologies.
  • Lead machine and process introduction, including supplier selection, PFMEA, concept design, factory layout, and cycle time optimisation.
  • Resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Generate installation documents, standard operating procedures, and technical literature for new and existing products.


Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND qualification or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the automotive or related industry.
  • Technical background with hands-on experience in designing and setting up production lines.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as MS Office, 2D/3D CAD (SolidEdge preferred).
