VACANCY Process Engineer

Introduction

We have a vacancy for Process Engineer to join the Engineering team.

This is a broad and varied role encompassing the development of new processes for new products, improving established process to maximise production efficiency, supporting manufacture as the new products transition to volume production and will be involved in a wide range of projects focused spanning the full life cycle. 

 

A sample of the key responsibilities:

Reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Day to day support of production, troubleshooting issues with manufacturing equipment in a timely manner
  • Developing and optimising processes in the manufacture of microelectronics products
  • Commissioning and qualifying new manufacturing equipment
  • Producing technical documentation, such operating instructions, inspection standards and PFMEAs
  • Supporting the transition of products from NPI to production
  • Provide training and support to other production operators
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and to instigate and support continuous improvement activities
  • Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Ensure safe working practices are adopted and health and safety legislation are adhered to when implementing new products, materials processes, or equipment.
  • On occasion, this role may require visits to customers or suppliers and may also involve foreign travel.

 

A sample of the core requirements:

  • Degree/HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of engineering principles and concepts; Lean, 8D, Design of experiments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Work well within a team
  • Have a strong technical bias, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • A good level of competence with MS Office applications for documentation and presenting reports.

 

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with electronics & mechanical CAD design
  • Awareness of manufacturing hybrid circuits and multi chip modules (chip and wire assembly)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and statistical process techniques
  • Familiarity with Mil standard and design for high reliability environments
