Location: Newcastle
Hourly Rate: £16.72 per hour
Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 16:45 (37.5 hours per week)

They are now seeking a skilled Manual Turner to join their expanding team.

 

Job Description:

As a Manual Turner, you will be responsible for the precision machining of components using traditional techniques including manual turning, milling, and vertical boring. This hands-on role will see you ensuring all output meets strict quality and tolerance standards while supporting both internal and external customer requirements.

Key duties include:

  • Performing manual turning, milling, and vertical boring operations
  • Operating and calibrating using Faro Arm equipment
  • Running pre-set CNC programs
  • Lifting and slinging of materials and components
  • Operating Forklift Trucks as needed
  • Maintaining and improving 5S standards (target of 85%+)
  • Achieving operational efficiency targets (OEE 90%)
  • Supporting the training of new starters
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety protocols

 

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in the Manual Turner role, you’ll need:

  • Hands-on experience in manual turning and machining operations
  • Familiarity with vertical boring and manual milling
  • Experience using Faro Arm and operating FLTs
  • Strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow job specifications
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S principles
  • A proactive and safety-conscious mindset
