A well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing business, part of a larger international group, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to join its site in Newton Aycliffe. The company is a major player in the plastics extrusion industry, supplying high-quality custom sheet materials to a range of sectors including automotive, construction, agriculture, and leisure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.

  • Plan and oversee daily maintenance operations and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.

  • Manage engineering budgets and contribute to strategic planning across departments.

  • Support and deliver capital and improvement projects on site.

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure production uptime and operational efficiency.

  • Identify and resolve breakdowns and long-term maintenance challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and engineering standards.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • HNC / HND / ONC in Engineering or equivalent (Time Served).

  • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong electrical skills (16th/17th/18th Edition qualified).

  • Experience mentoring or coaching engineering teams.

  • Proactive approach to engineering and maintenance.
