Mission and Main Objectives:

 

Join our client’s team as a Control Systems Technician (CST) and support maintenance during complex control system breakdowns. Collaborate in a cross-functional team to enhance plant equipment and processes, elevating production systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

As a Control Systems Technician, you will:

 

- Solve breakdown issues, assisting with PLC code, hardware, and control systems.

- Serve as a 'subject matter expert' in vision applications, robotics, and warehouse management.

- Lead process and equipment improvements, working with Engineering, IT, and Production.

- Deliver training to maintenance technicians.

- Project manage smaller assignments.

- Bridge the gap between Maintenance and IT Systems Support during critical incidents.

- Understand, troubleshoot, and design software logic for automation systems.

- Design electrical systems and circuits.

- Analyze sensor data for equipment functionality.

- Monitor and adjust equipment for optimal operation.

- Install new controls or upgrade existing ones.

- Troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, or control system malfunctions.

- Support equipment failure analysis.

- Test and validate new equipment, ensuring safety and quality.

- Respond to production issues on new equipment, making electrical and software improvements.

 

Experience and Qualifications Required:

 

  • Completed an accredited Electrical/Electronic/Systems Engineering apprenticeship.
  • HNC/BTEC Lv3 or 3 years relevant Electrical/Control Engineering experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing with high-speed automation.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to improve process equipment, focusing on fault-tolerant systems.
  • Knowledge of field bus network protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and serial communication protocols (e.g., RS-232).
  • Expertise in mass-manufacturing automatic systems, including motion, vision, robotics, and sensing technologies.
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency in writing and modifying PLC code (LDR, SCL, FBD).
  • Experience with one of the following PLC platforms: Mitsubishi, Siemens, or Omron.
  • Familiarity with MES-PLC network interface.
