Location: Stanley, County Durham
Hourly Rate: Up to £17.09 per hour DOE + 30% shift allowance
Shifts: 2-week rotation – Days and Nights

Job Description:

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist (Turner) with a passion for precision engineering? Dyer Engineering is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join their machine shop team.

As a CNC Machinist (Turner), you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating Doosan FANUC CNC lathes to produce high-quality components within tight tolerances. You’ll work to maintain and improve cycle times, ensure top-tier quality, and uphold safety and efficiency standards in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Programming FANUC lathes and setting up machines according to technical drawings
• Performing regular inspections and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance
• Carrying out quality checks using precision measuring instruments
• Troubleshooting minor machine issues and supporting maintenance tasks
• Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures in line with Dyer Engineering’s ‘Home Safe Everyday’ ethos
• Participating in continuous improvement projects and supporting other production tasks as needed
  
  

Skills & Experience:

• A solid understanding of CNC lathe operations and programming (particularly Doosan FANUC)
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
• Flexibility to support production demands, including overtime
• Previous experience in a similar CNC Machinist (Turner) role
