Job Description:

We are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to program, set, and operate CNC milling and turning machines on a day shift. This role involves a mix of programming from scratch and editing pre-written programs, using Fanuc ISO controls. You’ll produce precision parts, working to tolerances no smaller than 20 microns, ensuring quality is maintained at every stage of the process.

This CNC Machinist role includes interpreting technical drawings, carrying out in-process inspections, and working closely with the engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and optimise performance. You'll work in a clean, safety-first environment with modern machinery and excellent team support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling and turning machines
  • Creating programs from scratch and modifying existing ones
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Conducting quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Maintaining a tidy, safe workspace and machinery
  • Collaborating with engineers and team leaders to improve productivity

Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience as a CNC Machinist in both milling and turning
  • Proficiency in Fanuc ISO programming (including from scratch)
  • Strong understanding of machining practices and tight tolerances (20 microns+)
  • Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
  • Experience with sliding head lathes is advantageous
  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship) preferred
  • Ability to work independently and deliver consistently high standards

Why Should You Apply?

  • Day shift hours only – offering better work/life balance
  • Combination of programming and editing tasks – keeps the role technically engaging
  • Modern, well-equipped workplace with a safety-first culture
  • Stable role with a respected company that invests in its people
  • Strong potential for long-term development and progression

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a professional, growth-oriented environment. If you’re looking for a stable, rewarding role where your skills will be valued and developed, this CNC Machinist position could be your perfect next step.
