Job Description:

As a CNC Machinist – Vertical Borer, you’ll be an integral part of the machining team, reporting to the Cell Manager. Your role will involve setting and operating CNC machines, ensuring parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, programming machines for single or batch production, and ensuring quality through self-inspection using various measuring equipment. This CNC Machinist – Vertical Borer position will involve working with a wide range of materials including stainless steel, super alloys, duplex, brass, and aluminium.

This is a hands-on role within a collaborative environment, where you’ll interface with support departments such as engineering, production control, and maintenance. You may also contribute to the training of apprentices and junior machinists, playing a key role in knowledge sharing and team development.

Skills & Experience:

• Time-served engineer with proven experience in vertical boring
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Skilled in working with both imperial and metric dimensions
• Knowledge of 5-axis machining is beneficial but not essential
• Familiarity with inspection and measuring equipment
• Experience with a range of materials including exotic alloys
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Positive and proactive attitude toward quality and productivity
