The Position:

The Production Supervisor will lead and co-ordinate activities on designated flow lines to ensure the Company’s and departments business objectives in terms of cost, service, delivery, and safety. They will direct and co-ordinate activities to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel. The Production Supervisor will ensure compliance to the organisations policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations. 



Skills & Requirements of a Production Supervisor  

The successful candidate will have similar experience, be able to influence and motivate direct reports, effectively communicate and record information in a practical manner i.e.: setting meeting agendas, recording actions, and summarising data for management, PC literate and familiar with Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems such as SAP. 

 

Responsibilities of a Production Supervisor

The postholder will lead and motivate the team to ensure delivery of KPI’s in safety, cost, quality, and delivery, ensure that the line personnel are fully utilised at all times, monitor and direct activities towards waste reduction in:

    • Scrap and rework
    • Stock inventory (raw material and WIP)
    • Assembly process times
    • Actively identify and participate in change initiatives to increase productivity.

 

Facilitate and organise continuous improvement initiatives/programs within the department using modern manufacturing procedures (Cellular Manufacturing, Kanban, Genba Kanri, Process Analysis).

Manage individuals’ performance, carry out OFM’s, identify development opportunities and implement the disciplinary procedure where necessary.

Prompt investigation into quality, safety and productivity issues and implementation of corrective actions to prevent a re-occurrence.

Communicate all issues (quality, people, safety, production) to Product Line Manager and support functions in a timely manner.

Ensure health and safety regulations are implemented and adhered too.

Maintain and update records (COPQ, OEE etc) as required and completion of weekly report.
