Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Company Overview

One of the largest and most stable electronic employers in the area who supply to the aerospace and defence sectors are looking for a new Product/Process Engineer to join their team.

 

As a Product/Process engineer you will be responsible for providing frontline support in the production areas to maximise the operational efficiency of equipment and processes. You will be responsible for sustaining a wide range of processes as well as being accountable for developing and implementing new processes, process improvements and cost/scrap reduction to support the business projects, strategic plans and growth initiatives.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or HND/HNC with equivalent experience, in a related engineering discipline
  • Experience of semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience in Design of Experiments, 8D and data analysis.
  • Experience technical drawing or CAD software to develop process tooling solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Control of the introduction of new material processes and equipment.
  • Establishing process and equipment capabilities.
  • Designing or sub-contracting the design of jigs and fixtures.
  • The generation of process & manufacturing related documentation & PFMEA.
  • Participation in the design review / NPI processes.
  • Participate in the planning and layout of manufacturing cells.
  • Implement process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Ensure manufacturing documents are generated and are maintained in line with the manufacturing processes.
  • Participate and lead Failure analysis (8D) and yield improvement activities.
  • Actively seek to acquire knowledge of new processes or equipment to be used in NPI and/or CI.
  • Drive forward the implementation of yield improvement projects within a lean six sigma framework.
  • On occasion visits to customers, suppliers or training venues may be necessary and may involve foreign travel.
