Job Title –  Plater

Location – Consett

Shift Pattern – Day shift – Early finish on a Friday

Hourly Rate – £17.50 per hour

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Plater to join there team to contribute to the fabrication of heat exchangers.

 

Job Description:

They are looking for a proficient Plater with a specialization in building pressure vessels & heat exchangers. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of welding techniques, materials, and equipment, with the ability to fabricate and assemble heat exchangers to precise specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine plate dimensions and assembly requirements.
  • Select appropriate materials and prepare surfaces for plating, including cutting, grinding, and shaping as necessary.
  • Assemble plates according to design specifications, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.
  • Operate relevant machinery and equipment, to fabricate and form plates.
  • Perform welding tasks as needed to secure plates and components together.
  • Inspect finished assemblies for quality and accuracy, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Plater or similar role, preferably in the fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, and welding.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Attention to detail and precision in plate assembly and fabrication tasks.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
