Job Description:
As the Environmental Compliance Lead, you will be at the forefront of promoting a robust culture of environmental responsibility across the organisation. You will act as the expert advisor on compliance with environmental legislation and company policy, ensuring operations meet or exceed all relevant standards.
The Environmental Compliance Lead will collaborate closely with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to manage environmental permits, emissions, waste streams, and chemical compliance. You will lead audits, oversee ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems, and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Your responsibilities will include working with contractors and agencies, managing effluent processes, implementing emergency protocols, and contributing to the development of a positive HSE culture across the site.
Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior environmental compliance role within a manufacturing or production setting

Proven experience on a COMAH site

Strong understanding of ISO14001/45001 systems, environmental permitting, chemical safety (COSHH/CHIP), and waste management

Degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety or a related discipline

Accredited Lead Auditor (ISO14001 / ISO45001)

Experience with emergency response protocols and incident control

Excellent communication, reporting, and PC skills

Flexible, proactive, and confident working with regulatory agencies and internal teams
