Operating from their secure, integrated manufacturing facility in Newcastle upon Tyne, they manufacture 3mm diameter to 50 tonne components for customers in a wide variety of sectors, including civil nuclear, defence, aerospace, marine and oil & gas.
Job Description:
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the purchasing team. You will work closely with internal teams to manage procurement processes, liaise with suppliers, and ensure materials and subcontract services are sourced efficiently. Using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, you will help maintain accurate purchasing records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the procurement process in line with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP).
- Requesting quotations and raising purchase orders.
- Monitoring and updating purchase order details to maintain accuracy.
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve technical queries and ensure documentation compliance.
- Continuously improving purchasing methods for better efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with MRP and ERP systems in a manufacturing or sub-contract environment (IFS experience is a plus).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
